Fire crews are in attendance at Townsons Tractors at Hellifield due to a fire, gas bottles are thought to be in danger of exploding. It is thought to have started at around 9am this morning.
The nearby primary school and houses have been evacuated as a precaution. The school children have been taken to The Black Horse public house for collection by parents.
A local woman called Christine, who lives close to the scene said ‘We’re waiting for something to go with a bang its quite worrying being so close’.
The A65 remains closed in both directions.
