Vehicles stolen in “two-in-one” burglaries – appeal for witnesses and information

Police are investigating the theft of two vehicles after suspects grabbed the keys from inside houses.

The first of the “two-in-one” burglaries happened at Weeland Road in Eggborough when a blue Nissan Navara 4×4 truck was taken from the driveway overnight between Monday and Tuesday (6-7 September).

It is believed the house was entered via a rear French door and the car keys were taken before the vehicle – registration number BF09WWZ – was driven off in an unknown direction.

The second incident occurred on Sand Lane in South Milford between 3.15pm and 3.30pm on Tuesday (7 September).

The dark blue Audi A3 five-door car, registration number YE10OEG, was taken from the driveway of the house.

On this occasion, it is believed a male suspect had gained access to the house via a rear door and located the car key inside.

Police efforts to trace both vehicles are ongoing. Neighbouring police forces have been put on alert should they be located across the county border.

Officers have also carried out house-to-house enquiries in the local neighbourhoods and are appealing for possible witnesses and people with information that could assist the investigations to come forward as soon as possible.

It is possible that the two incidents are linked due to the similarity and close proximity of the offences.
