Police identify couple killed in fatal collision, renew appeal for vital witnesses and issue media invite.

Following a fatal road traffic collision police name the couple who died and issue an appeal for three vital witnesses to come forward.

The couple who died, following the collision on Wednesday 25 August 2010, were Sean and Helen Louise Slater who were aged 40 and 37, respectively. They came from Thornton, Bradford having recently moved from Morley, Leeds. The inquests into the deaths was opened and adjourned on Friday 27 August 2010.

The investigation into the circumstances which led to the collision remain ongoing and a number of vital witnesses are being sought.

Traffic Sergeant Julian Pearson, who is leading the enquiry, said: “I am particularly interested in hearing from two joggers who were on the A659 in the area of Newton Kyme and the driver of a Morris Minor which was entering Tadcaster on the A659 outside the primary school. The joggers and the car driver had to take evasive action to avoid being struck by members of the group of motorcyclists.”
