Police seek information after £9000 haul

Police are appealing for information after thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen during a burglary in Thirsk.

Sometime overnight between Saturday 19 June 2010 and Sunday 20 June 2010 a property in the Castlegate area was broken into and thieves made off with watches, rings and earrings valued at £8650.

 

A pair of black Paul Smith high heeled shoes worth £350 and a selection of perfumes valued at around £300 were also taken during  the raid.

Detective Constable Jason Roper, of Northallerton CID, said: “For the victim to arrive home and find her house ransacked was a particularly distressing experience for her.

“Some very expensive items were stolen during the burglary as were some items of great sentimental value which the victim would very much like returned.

 

“If anyone saw any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time of the burglary or has been offered any of the stolen items for sale, please contact the police or Crimestoppers.”

The following items were taken during the burglary:

* A Breitling Cockpit ladies watch with a white face with a gold and silver strap. Value £3000

* A diamond cluster ring set on a gold band. Value £1400

* A gold wedding ring with diamonds and emeralds. Value £800

* A gold engagement ring with diamonds and emeralds. Value £800

* A Tag Heuer ladies watch with a blue face and a silver strap. The watch is distinctive as there is a stone missing from above the number 12. Value £650

* A gold engagement ring with sapphire stones. Value £500

* A silver ring with a blue stone. Value £350

* A princess cut diamond ring with a gold band. Value £350

* A brand new pair of black Paul Smith high heeled shoes. Value 350

* Two pairs of gold Christian Dior earrings. Value £200

* A silver Swarovski necklace with matching bracelet. Value £200

* A matching set of  silver and pink Christian Dior jewellery, including earrings, a bracelet and a ring. Value £150

* A Jules B Safari Toywatch with a white strap and leopard print face. Value £150

* A selection of perfumes including: Paul Smith London, Chanel Mademoiselle, Chanel No.5, Thierry Mugler Angel, Cartier Eau, Christian Dior Miss Cherie, and J Lo. Value £290

* A silver cross. Value £50
