Police in Scarborough are seeking information following an attempted robbery which occurred in the Raincliffe Woods area of the town on Thursday 15 July 2010.
The attempted robbery occurred between 11.30am and 12noon when a 60-year-old man using crutches was approached by a man who threatened him with a knife and demanded that he hand over his wallet. The victim refused to give the robber his wallet and used one of his crutches to defend himself. The location was approximately five metres into the woods from a gate leading to the mere fishing area.
The robber is described as being aged in his late teens to mid-20’s with dark collar length hair and being clean shaven. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a white tee shirt with a blue and yellow pattern on the shoulders. It is believed that the offender may have an eastern European accent.
