On Thursday 29/04/10 North Yorkshire Police charged 6 people with conspiracy to burgle and money laundering and one person with money laundering. All 7 were remanded into custody and will appear before York Magistrates today 30/04/10.
The charges follow a number of distraction burglaries in the Yorkshire and Humberside region, including Scarborough, Brotherton (Selby), Bridlington and the West Yorkshire area. The seven were arrested in the Selby area yesterday (28 April).
Breakdown as follows:
Three men aged 18, 38 and 39 are all charged with conspiracy to burgle and money laundering, two are from the Middlesex area and the 39-yr-old has no fixed address.
Two women aged 40 and 41 and a 17-yr-old girl have been charged with conspiracy to burgle and money laundering.
A 19-yr-old woman has been charged with money laundering.
All females are from the Middlesex area.
